The lawsuit against the state of Nebraska to allow a project of a pipeline that would eventually carry “Tar Sand” from Canada all the way down to Gulf coast refineries. This has angered dozens of land owners and has affected 3 of those people to stand up and ask more serious questions. The lawsuit says the state law is unconstitutional because it does not give certain criteria to be evaluated when reviewing a pipeline project.
ABC News reported that the state argued unsuccessfully in September for the lawsuit to be dismissed. The Attorney General’s Office also states that the landowners have no rights to assert as taxpayers in this case because no tax money is being spent.

In a attempt to derail and block the ban of assault weapons in New York. The source comes from The Huff, who explains Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, who signed the Assault Weapon bill Jan. 15, won over State Senate Republicans by coupling stiffer penalties for illegal guns with a narrower definition of assault weapons and a reduction in magazine capacity to seven from 10. Owners of handguns and assault weapons must register them every five years.

Brian Stapleton, a lawyer who represents the plaintiffs, said they aren’t seeking monetary damages because the suit will center on state and federal constitutional questions…
